A local advertising company that actually picks up the phone.
Banjo Tech is an independent, Knoxville-based advertising service. We produce a shared direct-mail postcard that lands in thousands of East Tennessee mailboxes every 8–10 weeks — with one business per category per card, custom-designed ads, and a phone that a real person answers inside twelve minutes during business hours.
Why we exist
Local service businesses in the Knoxville metro — the plumbers, HVAC techs, roofers, bakeries, landscapers, remodelers that keep the region running — are stuck between two bad options when it comes to advertising. Facebook and Google ads are expensive to run and vanish the moment you stop paying. A solo direct-mail postcard to 3,000 homes is $1,500–$3,000 once you add design, printing, and postage — too much to test.
Banjo Tech splits the fixed cost of a premium postcard across a handful of non-competing local businesses. Each advertiser gets category exclusivity — only one plumber, one HVAC company, one bakery per card. Cost drops from thousands to hundreds. A Standard slot is $300. The card still reaches the same 3,000 homes, on the same 14pt glossy stock, via the same USPS Every Door Direct Mail channel.
How we're different
Three things, concretely:
- Category exclusivity. You're the only business in your category on the card. No competitor shares airtime with you.
- Custom design, no extra fee. Send us a logo and the offer you want printed. We design the ad. We revise it. Nothing goes to print until you approve.
- You're talking to the owner. No sales rep. No account manager. No CRM sequence. Text the number, get a reply in minutes, get your card live.
Where we mail
The card runs on city-specific cycles across the Knoxville metropolitan area:
- Knox County — Knoxville, Farragut, Bearden, West Knoxville, Sequoyah Hills, Rocky Hill, Concord, Fountain City, South Knoxville, Powell, Halls, Karns.
- Blount County — Maryville, Alcoa, Louisville (TN), Seymour.
- Anderson County — Oak Ridge.
- Loudon County — Lenoir City.
Each city has its own card cycle, and advertisers can buy into one, several, or all of them. See the full coverage list for household counts and drop cadence per city.
How we work
1. You text (865) 335-1197 and tell us your business and which card you're interested in. 2. We confirm category availability and send you a design questionnaire (logo, offer text, any photos). 3. We send a first proof within 2–3 business days. 4. We revise until you approve in writing. 5. Card goes to print. 6. USPS delivers over the following 7–14 days. 7. You get a weekly Monday email with QR scan counts.
Our track record
We've been running shared postcards for Knoxville-metro businesses for several years. A plumber in Farragut reserved in under five minutes of seeing his first card. A bakery in Bearden saw four walk-ins on the day the card dropped. An HVAC company in West Knox booked through the cycle inside the first week. The common thread isn't marketing magic — it's that a sturdy postcard on a kitchen counter beats a Facebook ad nine times out of ten, for a local service business.
